For some people gambling can change from entertainment and pleasure and become an issue. When that happens, gambling can play too big a role in a person's life and hurt them, their family, friends and the people who care for them. Metropolitan and Regional services throughout Victoria. Telephone counselling and support 24 hours, 7 days a week for anybody affected by gambling. Referrals offered, bilingual counsellors and interpreters available.

Gambler's Anonymous 

12-step program (similar to AA) facilitated by reformed gamblers. Western region outlets include Footscray, Melton South, Moonee Ponds, Werribee and Taylors Lakes.

Peer Connection

This is a telephone peer-support program staffed by volunteers, some of who have overcome their own gambling problems. The caller is matched with an appropriate volunteer who will make weekly, fortnightly or monthly calls depending on the caller's needs. All volunteers are provided with comprehensive training through Lifeline, though this service is NOT for people in immediate crisis.
